Webinar: Substance Identity Testing Requirements for UK REACH

UK REACH now applies in England, Scotland and Wales. Substance identity needs to be established as a key part of the substance dossiers required for both the initial Inquiry and for Registration. These data will be needed by those who:

  • are Grandfathering from EU REACH to UK REACH
  • need to submit an Inquiry in order to join a UK SIEF following submission of a Downstream User Import Notifications [DUIN]
  • want to import or manufacture a new substance above 1 tonne per year and need to complete a new registration.

Accurate substance identity data, generated to meet regulatory requirements is an essential part of the Inquiry and Registration processes to ensure that registrants are in the correct SIEFs and to meet the requirements for data sharing in joint registrations as well as minimising the costs of registration.

During this webinar, our speaker, Helen Steele, Operations Manager and Regulatory Expert, Intertek, describes the regulatory chemical testing requirements for substance identification, sameness, and nanoform characterisation in order to establish substance identity.

Our Presenter

Dr Helen Steele, Operations Manager & REACH Consultant, Intertek

Following her doctorate from Queen’s University of Belfast and post-doctoral research at Philipp’s University Marburg and the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, Helen's career has included roles within the chemical industry in Regulatory Affairs responsible for management of REACH and implementation of CLP/GHS compliance. Helen has been working as the REACH and Regulatory Consultant at Intertek for 8 years and she is currently working closely with clients to help them meet their UK REACH obligations with a focus on analytical testing requirements.
