Chemical Hazards & Safety Data Sheet Training

CHCS offers Modular Training Courses on the writing of Safety Data Sheets (SDSs), and related issues such as classification, labelling and other documentation.

About The Course

These Modules are specially prepared for CHCS, and given by acknowledged experts in their fields. The course has been designed with 4 conceptual levels incorporating basic introduction, core knowledge, interpretation and use of knowledge. It is split into several Modules as shown below.

Our training courses are only available to CHCS members, unless you book an "in-house" version (see below). If you aren't a member of CHCS we'd be pleased to welcome you to the Society, and then you may register for our training courses (and other CHCS member-only events). You can JOIN US by completing the form on this website.

Click on the title of the course, below, to open the full description, downloadable flier and online booking form.

In-House Training

If you have several people, in your organisation, that you would like to attend one or more of our Modules, it may be worth considering arranging an “in-house” course. We run these just in the same way as our normal modules, but just for your own personnel. We can run any of the modules listed as “in-house”.

If you wish to find out more about “in-house” training options, please contact the CHCS Office (enquiries@chcs.org.uk).

CHCS Training Syllabus

Each Module is designed as a stand-alone course. Modules can be taken in any order, but we recommend that delegates have a solid knowledge of the basic and core subjects before taking modules on the interpretation and use of knowledge. Modules 5 & 11, 6 & 12, 8 & 10, 53 & 20 are normally offered as 'pairs' (presented in consecutive weeks, each module itself on two consecutive mornings). Delegates can nonetheless choose to attend an individual Module from any of those pairs.
