About the job

Working as part of the safety and regulatory team as a SDS Author and Cosmetic Regulatory Officer, you will assist the regulatory team leader(s) and managers in the day-to-day running of various tasks as required.

In this role, your key responsibilities are to take ownership of MSL’s SDS offering, build on this service and increase our offering to include other similar regulatory services. From the offset, you will contribute to existing projects for EU/ UK and US cosmetic regulatory clients.

Through efficient and timely delivery of set objectives, you will support the growth and development of the wider business.

You will be required to:

    • Author Safety Data Sheets to global requirements (inc. EU, North American and Asian requirements) using SDS authoring software.
    • Generate UFI Codes and Poison Centre Notifications.
    • Provide cosmetic regulatory advice for our customers (training can be provided if required).
    • Undertake gap analysis reviews for USA cosmetic products under FDA (MOCRA) and State requirements (training can be provided if required).
    • Prepare and collect the information required to create Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs, training can be provided if required).
    • Review and create cosmetic product artwork ingredient lists (INCI) for compliance with EU/ UK (and preferably USA and Canada).

Requirements

    • Previous experience in authoring SDS (+1 year).
    • A degree in chemistry (or a related subject).
    • A strong knowledge of cosmetic regulations and understanding of cosmetic safety requirements.
    • Keen to learn new skills and keep up to date with regulatory changes.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
