Webinar Overview
This webinar covers firefighting advice, including how to understand what to put into Section 5 of safety data sheets (SDS). Specifically:
- What information should be included in a SDS
- How the information is, or could be, used
- Types of fire and suitable extinguishers
- Firefighting technologies, including newer developments
- Common causes of fire
- Case study fires
Section 5 is an often-neglected section of the SDS, with many common and repeated phrases used to populate it. But who is it intended for anyway? How is it used currently? How should it – or could it – be used. It helps when populating this section.
In this webinar we will examine the various types of fire that can result and how best to tackle each fire type. This includes an overview of firefighting methods used by fire services as well as portable fire fighting technologies. This is designed to help you in assessing how your substances and mixtures may contribute to a fire or be affected by it.
Some common causes of fire are discussed, and case studies referenced.
The particular problems that lithium ion battery technology can pose, as the assemblies become more prevalent in our daily lives, is also discussed.
Who should attend?
This webinar is intended to be of interest to a wide audience – especially those involved in, or responsible for, writing safety data sheets or using them in a chemical safety capacity.
