Webinar: Chemical Regulation in Turkey, Incorporating the Latest Updates to GHS
Webinar Overview
KKDIK was published on 23 June 2017 by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of Turkish Republic, and formally came into effect on 23 December 2017.
The regulation shares many similarities with EU REACH and has consequently become known as Turkish REACH.
The KDIK regulation unites several pieces of chemical legislation under one law, repealing the following legislation:
- Regulation on the Inventory and Control of Chemicals;
- Regulation on the Preparation and Distribution of Safety Datasheets for Hazardous Materials and Products; and
- Regulation on the Restrictions Relating to the Production, Supply to the Market and Use of Certain Hazardous Materials, Products and Goods.
Although the KDIK is very similar to EU REACH, one of the key differences between the two is that Turkish REACH requires trained and qualified ‘experts’ undertake registrations and notifications.
The webinar will review the background to the regulation and the main requirements. The latest updates will be covered, along with the status of GHS in Turkey.
Who should attend?
The webinar will be of interest to organisations involved in supplying chemicals to Turkey, to companies with affiliates or customers in Turkey, and to anyone who is interested in the regulatory system in Turkey.
