Lisam Systems is one of the leading providers of safety data sheet (SDS) authoring software to a global client base of more than 1400 companies. Worldwide, the company has offices and representation in the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Romania, Turkey, United States, Canada, Brazil, India and Singapore. Lisam's market leading software ExESS® creates, manages and distributes CLP (GHS) compliant SDS and labels for all major commercial markets.

Following rapid expansion, including a recent competitor acquisition, and with further expansion planned for the future Lisam are now seeking a Software Sales Executive to join our small but busy team based in the North East of England.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with the ability to work with clients across various industries from retail and cosmetics to pharmaceutical, petrochemicals, paints & coatings and everything in-between, varying in size from SME's to multinational conglomerates.

  • previous sales experience
  • strong communication skills
  • excellent written & spoken English
  • flawless customer services skills
  • ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards targets
  • travel around the UK occasionally may be necessary therefore a driving licence is needed
  • willingness to stay away from home on occasion
  • as the role can sometimes involve working face-to-face with clients up to MD/CEO level on-site, a smart professional appearance and the ability to conduct oneself with confidence and professionalism is essential
  • a high standard of IT knowledge and computer literacy
  • a background in dangerous goods legislation would be a distinct advantage

Responsibilities

The role requires significant interaction with clients, which may be face-to-face or over the telephone. Tasks are varied and include:

  • project managing the whole sales process from initial contact, demonstrations, negotiating, organising training and then handing to our client support team
  • migrating existing clients to new solutions
  • understanding customers' diverse, specific business needs and applying product knowledge to meet those needs
  • ensuring quality of service by developing a thorough and detailed knowledge of technical specifications and other features of Lisam systems and processes and then documenting them
  • sourcing new leads and handling incoming enquiries in order to create interest in products and services and arrange meetings
  • identifying and developing new business through networking and courtesy and follow-up calls
  • preparing and delivering customer presentations and demonstrations of the software, articulately and confidently
  • marketing and promoting a portfolio of products by writing and designing sales literature and attending industry events
  • maintaining awareness and keeping abreast of constantly changing software and hardware systems
  • providing technical advice to customers on all aspects of the installation and use of computer systems and networks, both before and after the sale
  • advising on software features and how they can be applied to assist in a variety of contexts such as accounting, manufacturing or other specialist areas
  • meeting sales targets set by managers and contributing to team targets
  • networking with existing customers in order to maintain links and promote additional products and upgrades
  • handling hardware or software problems and faults and referring on to Helpdesk colleagues
  • writing proposals, reports and supporting literature
  • managing workload in order to organise and prioritise daily and weekly goals
  • contributing to team or progress meetings to update and inform colleagues
